Today we were lucky to have Kelsey Starblanket from PVSD and his brother, Wendell Starr join us in our classroom. They joined and presented information on First Nation culture, dancing, and their belief about children. We learned about teepees and what the four poles meant. We also learned about what respect means. We enjoyed their presentation and we learned a lot!
I want to thank Kelsey and Wendell for facing the snow storm to visit our class and share their culture with us. We learned some new Cree words and were excited to see pictures of First Nation pow wow dancers!
Parents, please ask the students what they learned from this presentation. I am sure that they will have something to share!
